THE GREEN MONTH of MARCH

Ahhh... my favorite month is upon us... March!  The one month that is dedicated to the most beautiful color in the world, GREEN!  Why do I love green sooo much?  Well, for starters and enders, I Ike the Frog am GREEN and Irish.  OK, I am only part Irish, but my Father's Uncle's Half Sister was a Leprechaun's pet, so I really feel the connection :)

St. Paddy's Day is on March 17 and this year I am going get into the GREEN more than ever.  Here is a list of things I am going to do in celebration:

7:30 am - Wake-Up and start the day with a cup of GREEN Tea.
7:45 am- Get dressed in GREEN - Wait I am already GREEN :) The best part of St. Patrick's Day is that everyone gets to be me for a day when we are all wearing GREEN and you know what... I never get pinched!

8:00 am - Eat Breakfast.  I read in a book about GREEN Eggs and Ham... I think I will try that, I mean come on you can eat it in a boat with a goat, who won't want to eat it.

9:00 am - Take a Dip in The Chicago River.  Ever Year for St. Paddy's Day they dye it GREEN.  I hope it's not too cold, my little frog legs are sensitive.

11:00 am - Then it's off to find me a Leprechaun... hmmmmm were to find one... I should call me Father's Uncle's Half Sister, If I only knew who me father was... Delema!

12:00 pm - LUNCH!  I think I will stick to the usual, a GREEN salad with a side of flies.

1:00 pm - Nap time.

5:00 pm - It's 5 o-clock somewhere and it's time for my first GREEN beer of the day and probably me last.  I am small, I can't drink more than a tablespoon.

6:00 pm - Dinner Time... maybe I should have eaten before I drank me GREEN beer.  Oh well.  I know everyone has corned beef and cabbage, but this year I am going to change it up... How does GREEN Grasshoppers Casserole Sound???  Ehhh, Good Right!

7:00 pm - The sweet smell of Dessert - Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream anyone?

8:00 pm - I thought I would end the night with the movie - "Fried GREEN Tomatoes".  Who doesn't love Jessica Tandy... Tears just thinkin' about it.

10:00 pm - Off to bed - Thank you all for spending a wonderful St. Patrick's Day with me... Nighty-Night!

I would love to hear all your St. Paddy's Day traditions... Maybe next year I can try yours :)

Ike's Love Poem

I wanted to send a sweet note out to that special someone in my life that has been there for me, who has feed me, who has cleaned me, and who has made my life the adventure that we all talk about. This poem is for you baby... I hope you LOVE it!!

When my green feels blue,
And I need something new,
You warm me up with your sunshine.
Your LOVE is so rare,
And you really, really care,
You feed me flies that are so divine.
I can't stop the rainy days,
And I LOVE your silly ways,
You give me shelter to keep me dry.
The world in which I live you clean well,
You don't mind if I jump in the mud and smell,
I think that I must be the luckiest guy.
Is there a word that is bigger than LOVE?
No, I think it fits like a glove.
I LOVE You Mother Earth!
There is so much I can say,
You are my guiding light everyday.

LOVE,
IKE THE FROG

Ike's New Year Resolutions

Happy New Year and Kenourios Chronos!! To all my wonderful friends and Happy Birthday to me :)

This first year has been a long one for me. Granted, I don't have any other years to compare it to, but I can tell you this much, I hope that the years to come are just as long and wonderful. I have learned so much during my first year of life and this has brought me to the list of 5 things I would like to accomplish this year.

1. By Listening
I want to be able to learn something new every day. I am a young frog and listening for me isn't an easy task, just ask my mom. HI MOM!! But if I am able to learn 1 new thing every day from listening, that is 365 thoughts of wisdom that I may be able to pass onto others. Shhh... I think I hear something now... nope, it was just my stomach, nevermind.

2. By Observing
I spent most of my first year with my head in the water and swimming (not much to observe when you are confined in a small puddle). Being out and about, I can't wait to observe all the wonderful things that the dry world has to offer and see how I can make a difference. Like, the other day I observed a pile of trash. It looked to me to be full of things that could be recycled: soda cans, bottles and cardboard. Now, what can I do to make recycling easier? I will have to think about this one and get back to you later...

3. By Being Socially Responsible
What is being socially responsible? Social responsibility is an ethical theory that we have a responsibility to society at large. Write that down, it is your wisdom for the day :) We must take care of each other. In the small community of Polson, Montana in which I reside I pledge to support more local businesses (especially if they are frog friendly businesses), agriculture, and the community.

4. By Caring
I care about the planet in which I live. To my knowledge, I think we only have one planet we can live on. So, I want to keep her beautiful and green with all the flies and spiders I can eat.
One way I am going to help this year is by starting a compost pile. It will not only feed the earth, but also reduce the amount of trash I send to the dump... not to mention all the yummy worms I get to eat, I mean... use :)

5. By Embracing
I am just a little frog with a big heart. I want to embrace those who wish to eat me and some how get them to love me, and not just for my taste ( I taste pretty bad by the way!) So, I guess my goal is to not get eaten when hugging a hedgehog. I love you man.

There you have it, MY RESOLUTIONS FOR 2010!!! I can't wait to keep you all posted on how I am doing and the adventures I will embark on this year. All the best to you and yours and I look forward to seeing you all in the new year!

Your Friend,

Ike the Frog

My Sincere Apologies!

I want to apologize to everyone for Barbie's misconduct in The Anura's dollhouse window display. Today at 3:15pm (mountain time), Barbie was caught sleeping naked, on the bed, in the Plan Toys dollhouse. We are unsure as to how long Barbie has been in the dollhouse and hope that the community of Polson, Montana can forgive us for not finding her sooner. She contests that she does not know how she got there and the whereabouts of her clothes is unknown.

After much deliberation we decided not to contact the local authorities on the matter. Hopefully, no one else called the police on us for allowing such lude behavior in our very wholesome, kid friendly store. Because of this instance Barbie has now been put on suspension from her duties as curator of the Plan Toys Doll House. After at few days in the toy box we hope that Barbie can return to her duties, fully clothed.

We will be holding a clothes drive for Barbie so this never happens again. Please bring any size xxxxx-small clothing to 217 Main Street, Polson, MT 59860 or call Ike at (406) 883-3141 for more information.

Again, thank you for excepting our apologies and in the future we will be screening our employees a little bit better.
